Our origins
Located in the Barcelona municipality of Sant Just Desvern, Mesón Gallego has 25 years of professional career. It is a family business currently led by Sergio Rodriguez, the founder’s son, who tells us that he is very proud and grateful to his parents for the effort and work they have invested in making this restaurant last over time. Mesón Gallego timidly opened its doors to change the moment Sergio took command. He updated the decoration a bit, increased the variety of the menu and introduced some more elaborate recipes, although that, without replacing the philosophy that has made Mesón Gallego has been maintained for so many years.
The type of cuisine that we will find in this establishment is mainly Galician – in fact both the meat and the seafood, they tell us, that bring it from Galicia – but at the same time it has been enriched with other proposals. This is how we can start the agape with a plate of ham or squid in the Cantabrian style, then opt for one of the specialties of the house: the paellas, the octopus with clams or the starry eggs – with potato bakery, crumbled chorizo, pepper, garlic and tomato-; a more elaborate dish such as the Zucchini millefeuille with a ham, apple and goat cheese or the classic meat or fish dishes like the Galician Rape, or the Basque.
